The challenge

A large block where the yard had been left long enough for grass to swallow accumulated debris. Timber offcuts, building materials and discarded items were hidden in the growth, so the site had to be cleared by hand before any mowing could start.

What we did

We worked through the yard in sections, removing debris ahead of the mower rather than over it, then cut the grass back across the whole block and finished the fence lines and the area under the carport by hand. All waste left the site with us.

An oversize block being prepared for sale, where the side yard and paved courtyard had grown over to the point that the hard landscaping underneath was no longer visible.

What we did

We cleared the weed growth from the side yard by hand, keeping the established yuccas, then mowed the rear lawn back to its concrete block edging and lifted the weed growth out of the paved courtyard so the pavers and rock edging read as a usable space again.

The challenge

A terraced property where a dense mat of weed growth had covered the lower yard and filled the narrow access strips between the building and the boundary fence, leaving the sandstone retaining walls hidden.

What we did

We cleared the weed mat off the lower terrace to expose the rock wall, worked the narrow side access by hand where a mower could not reach, and cut back the overgrown planter beds so the steps and levels of the garden read clearly again.

The challenge

A rental property between tenancies where the side yards had been left through a growing season. Grass had reached head height in places and the stepping stone path down the side of the house had disappeared entirely.

What we did

We cut the growth down in stages rather than in one pass, cleared it off the paths and hard surfaces, and worked the fence lines and corners by hand so the whole block was presentable for the incoming tenant.

The challenge

A vine had grown over the side fence, the hot water system and the side wall of a Marsden property. It was encroaching on the hot water system's electrical and plumbing connections and had reached the gutter line and roof.

What we did

We removed the vine completely from the side of the house, the hot water system and the roof line. We also cleared the growth spilling over the fence into the passage. Vines like this can regrow quickly, so we suggest a follow-up visit in three to four months.
