Garden rehabilitation projects

Restoring terraced beds, boundary strips and established plantings by hand, keeping what was worth keeping.

After

Planter and steps. The Holmview planter cut back with the concrete steps and planter edge clear

The challenge

A terraced property where a dense mat of weed growth had covered the lower yard and filled the narrow access strips between the building and the boundary fence, leaving the sandstone retaining walls hidden.

What we did

We cleared the weed mat off the lower terrace to expose the rock wall, worked the narrow side access by hand where a mower could not reach, and cut back the overgrown planter beds so the steps and levels of the garden read clearly again.

Boundary and Frontage Clean-Up - Edens Landing

Overgrown fence lines and street frontage cut back on a large block

After

Weeds and grass covering the sloped rear boundary strip of an Edens Landing block
Before

After

Rear boundary slope. The Edens Landing rear boundary cleared with the landscaping rocks exposed

The challenge

A large block where the boundary strips and the mound at the driveway entrance had grown out to the point that the fence lines were inaccessible and the frontage looked unkempt from the street.

What we did

We cut the boundary strips back along their full length, cleared the frontage mound so the kerb and bin enclosure were accessible again, and cleared the sloped strip along the rear fence, exposing the landscaping rocks set into it.
