Commercial Grounds Maintenance
Grounds services for commercial and industrial sites
What industrial grounds work actually involves
An industrial yard is not a garden. The grounds exist to be driven over, parked on and walked through, and the maintenance that matters is the maintenance that keeps those things working safely.
On a typical industrial site we are dealing with a long street frontage, verges, internal grass strips between driveways and buildings, car park islands, garden beds that have usually lost their edges, and a perimeter fence line with self-seeded growth along it.
Sightlines and access
This is the part that separates industrial grounds work from mowing. Vegetation that has grown across a car park boundary or a gate approach stops being untidy and starts being a hazard. When a driver reversing a truck cannot see a person walking to the site office, that sits alongside your other workplace safety obligations.
We treat the following as core scope rather than extras:
- Clearing vegetation blocking sightlines at gates, car park exits and internal intersections
- Cutting growth back off gate swings and pedestrian entries
- Removing growth from security fence lines, which otherwise damages the fence over time
- Clearing growth encroaching on footpaths and verges
- Clearing kerb channels and stormwater grates, which only announce themselves in heavy rain
Working around your operation
Material keeps moving while we work. We ask about your traffic patterns and operating hours before quoting, follow your visitor reporting process, keep gates and access ways clear even mid-job, and stop rather than working alongside a truck manoeuvring.
Where a site is too busy to work safely during the week, we will work weekends or outside hours. That needs an access arrangement you are comfortable with, whether that is a key, a card, or someone on site to open up.
Equipment
We run battery equipment for the majority of the work, and a zero-turn mower with a catcher for the open turf, verges and islands. On a site with long grass and real area, the ride-on is what makes the job economic. All green waste leaves with us.
